Member
Get-a-Member campaign
ASIS International's Reach Out campaign allows you to share the benefits of
belonging to ASIS International and reap the benefits of individual and chapter
awards. Program details can be found
here.
Virtual Forums
Sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy the ease of these live, 90-minute
interactive sessions delivered via the Internet and speakerphone. Session
handouts are delivered prior to each program and make participating in a Virtual
Forum a truly interactive event. The low registration fee is per site, not
per person, so by using a speakerphone any number of your coworkers can
participate. This is an incredibly useful tool for your chapter. Register
online or call KRM
Information Services at 800-775-7654.
Special Note: Complimentary Virtual Forums for your chapter.
Continuing on the success of this popular program, ASIS is
pleased to offer our Chapters with complimentary and discounted Virtual Forums
for you to use to host a chapter educational program.
Complimentary Registrations
ASIS will be offering two chapters per month the opportunity to
register for a FREE Virtual Forum on a first-come, first-served basis. Only two
complimentary registrations will be given away each month between July 2008 and
December 2008. Each chapter is allowed one free Virtual Forum per year and
requests must be made in writing.

these educational forums for your chapter.

CPP on Line Modules are Here!
During our Regional training meeting in March I made a promise to all in
attendance that I would begin my “Jedi” training to become a CPP (Certified
Protection Professional). Well with a little nudging from some of my fellow
Cleveland Chapter Members such as Derrick Zamangi of SBC and Ryan Sherman at the
Background Network I have done just that! Derrick you see is the Certification
Coordinator and Ryan is the Scholarship Chairman as well as my study partner.
The point is I am extremely excited to share a successful study method we have
incorporated in this process. The on line CPP review training modules provided
by ASIS International through the ASIS web site. For the cost of about $400.00
you are given password protected access to the training modules. The topics are
as follows:
- Business Principles and Practices:
- Emergency Planning:
- Information Security:
- Investigations:
- Legal Aspects:
- Personnel Security:
- Physical Security 1:
- Physical Security 2:
- Security Principles and Practices:
I found these modules to be extremely useful and highly
recommend them for any of you wishing to pursue a CPP or other certification.
While they certainly do not comprise the entire CPP subject matter they are
fairly comprehensive across a broad spectrum of relevant topics. They are also a
very good review of the best practices many of us have learned and forgotten
over the years. You may purchase modules on line at
http://asiscpp.bptechonline.com/home/ Ryan and I expect to take the test in
June and will keep you posted. If I fail you wont get an update! ASIS
2008 Walsh Award Applications Wanted
